Transfer from Milan to Lake Garda

The train is an attempt to find a happy medium between price and comfort on a route of 130–160 km. The journey takes approximately 1.5–2.5 hours, including transfers. Typically, you first need to travel to Desenzano del Garda or Peschiera del Garda, and from there, it’s easy to reach your desired resort by local transport. Advantages include comfortable seats, the ability to walk around the carriage if you’re stuck, and designated luggage areas. Train stations in major cities are well-equipped: you won’t have to spend a long time searching for an exit or information desk, and staff are usually ready to help with directions. However, there are pitfalls: Italian trains, unfortunately, don’t always arrive on schedule. Delays due to technical or organizational reasons are common, and if you choose a connecting train, you risk missing your next connection. This is especially true in the summer or on holidays, when there are many tourists: it’s best to book tickets in advance, otherwise you might be left without a seat. Furthermore, not all trains have spacious luggage compartments, so carrying large items (bicycles, snowboards, etc.) can be difficult—you’ll need to make arrangements with the conductor in advance.
