Getting from Ljubljana to Lake Como by bus requires several transfers. First, take a flight to Udine, Italy (about 3 hours). From there, continue to Milan (another 3–3.5 hours). In Milan, transfer to a local bus or regional transport to your chosen resort on Lake Como (40–60 minutes). Taking into account waiting times and transfers, the total travel time is 8–10 hours. Cons: schedules are published primarily in Italian, creating a language barrier; buses have limited space for large luggage—skis, bicycles, or large suitcases can be uncomfortable. During the low season, some routes are cancelled, and the intervals between buses can be as long as 3–4 hours.
